Grand Lake, Colorado

One of the major reasons that we decided to get the new truck was so that we could have a nicer, more spacious vehicle to do more traveling and road trips.  So that is what we have been trying to do!  Two weekends ago (sorry this blog is late!), we loaded up and took a little day trip over to Grand Lake.  It is only about two hours away and a really pretty drive.

We did a little hike...

Elizabeth slept through the whole thing!  It was amazing how many comments we got from people that we passed...apparently it's strange to take a baby on a hike??  They obviously didn't live in Steamboat :)

Then we walked down to the lake so Boone could play in the water.  I am apologizing in advance for the following sequence of pictures.  I would also like to say that despite the looks of things, Boone had a blast!

HA! I wish that I could make one of those little flip books so you could flip through and actually see what Boone looked like "swimming".  It did not look like a swim, or even a doggie paddle, it was more like a crazed gallop...I think I have mentioned before, our dog is NOT a swimmer.

We also just did some relaxing on the dock.

Will said Elizabeth looked like she was ready for the Kentucky Derby in her hat (pardon all the baby slobber!).

I love how she was cracking up in this picture!  We all had a great day!

And Will would kill me if I didn't mention this...while we were at the dock we ran into a woman who had a second home there (sorry I didn't get a picture of the house!).  Her husband was an architect and they had built their house into the rocks on the other side of the lake.  The only access to their house was a small walking path or by boat!  They had to boat all of the materials over in order to build the house!  When we met her she was loading up her canoe with coolers and her laundry...clean, folded laundry...on a canoe!  Her husband passed away last year but she was still vacationing there at her home.  It was a great story but I just couldn't get over her canoeing everything back and forth herself!  Talk about a real woman!

Fathers Day

Happy First Fathers Day to Will - this Daddy loves his little girl!

I also wanted to share the link to this blog...I came across this list while I was pregnant and somehow remembered it and used it for part of Will's Fathers Day present.  I have read it over and over and love it a little more every time I read it!  I thought it was too good not to share!

Will's Newest Baby

The newest addition to our family arrived last week!  See I wasn't kidding when I said that we had to order EVERYTHING and have it shipped here!  This baby came to us all the way from North Carolina.

Nothing says "manly truck" like a car seat in the back :)

We all loaded up and took that baby for a ride....

...to the park!

We took a little walk and had a picnic.
And then we took this as a sign it was time to go home...

...and this time Momma got to drive!!

Month Three

We celebrated 3 Months with the little girl last week!  It's been a busy month...

This month she perfected her smile...

and her pout.

I think it is hilarious the way sticks her bottom lip out already...I have a feeling she will learn to use that in her favor with her daddy very soon!

We are still working on raising that head...she is doing better and better and getting so much stronger...she still hates it though.

We had play dates with our friend, Meri :)

Lots of quality time with Aunt Katie and Uncle Drew!

And of course lots of practice on our baby modeling skills :)

She is so cute I can hardly stand it!!  I am so thankful that I get to spend everyday with her...
Happy 3 Months, EP!

Weekend Getaway

A couple of weekends ago, Will and I decided to pack up and get away for the night.  We were already driving about an hour and a half away to Silverthorne to sell Will's truck (we got a new one! Blog coming soon!) so we just decided to stay down there and make the drive worth our while.  We spent the day shopping at the outlets (glorious!!) in Silverthorne then headed over to Breckenridge to spend the night.  It was Elizabeth's first weekend getaway and she did great!  We got a room at The Lodge and Spa at Breckenridge (sounds fancy, right? I found an awesome deal online!)...and it was beautiful!

Here are some of the views outside...

and the view inside...aren't they both beautiful??

Can you see the resemblance?

Okay, finally up and at 'em...this little girl LOVES her morning sleep!

We packed everybody up (yes, Boone was with us too.) and headed home. I should have gotten a picture of us crammed in the 4-Runner like sardines!  It was full BEFORE I made all my purchases but stuffed to the brim afterwards!  Another reason we are excited about the new truck...again blog coming soon!

We took the scenic route home...

I mean dirt road scenic.

But it was beautiful and well worth it!
