Nursery Progress

That's right I said nursery...NURSERY! I hope this isn't the first time you are hearing about it but if so...we're expecting a baby! April 4, 2012 and we are pretty excited about it.

While my family was here last week they wanted a project to work on for us and we wanted them to get to be a part of this exciting time so it was a win-win! They worked so hard for us and of course, for the baby bean.

The link below was my inspiration:

Now just a coat of paint and hang 'em on the wall and we will be all set. Well, minus furniture, some accessories and a baby of course :)

Salyer Visit 2011

Mom, Dad, my Aunt Kathy and Uncle David came to visit us for 10 whole days. It was so wonderful to have them here for some quality time, good food and LOTS of laughs. We can always count on them for that. We had a wonderful time but it went by much too fast. Good thing I have a pretty good excuse for them all come back in April :)

There was some girl time...

Some boy time...

And LOTS of togetherness!

We stopped for a picnic on our road trip to Glenwood Springs. It was yummy!

There was even putt-putt...how lucky are we??

Spades playing...can you guess who the losers were? I will give you a hint it was Kathy and Will (they did redeem theirselves though...I believe the final record was 4-2...they got the 2).

Photo shoot (before the snow...thats right, it snowed while they were here!)

This was day 1. Notice how we are all dressed...

This is the last day. The weather changed a little bit but we didn't care...it was an adventure!

We love you guys!! Thanks for coming to see us!

Bird Dog Boone

Yep, those are feathers stuck to his nose.

Don't worry...the bird was already dead when he found it.

Random

I'm starting to get the impression that people might be sick of looking at Will's car (I can't imagine why??). Well...this is truly a random assortment of pictures we have taken over the last couple of weeks.

We have been having quite a bit of rain but the bonus is that we also frequently get these beautiful rainbows.

Of course, we have quite a few pictures of our crazy dog. Boone sometimes forgets that he is a bird dog and thinks that he is a herding dog. The cows sometimes get loose in our backyard and Boone likes to torture them.

Also, being the brilliant little being that he is...he somehow managed to get himself into the back of our neighbors truck (that's right, not even Will's truck, our neighbors!). He cried loudly until I found him and went and let the tailgate down for him. I guess it wasn't too high to jump up but it was too high to jump down. Silly dog.

Will has been working really really hard on trying to get everything ready for starting the construction of our stairs. Here is the aerial view of the progress so far...

Oh...so my car is in the shop (that is a whole 'nother sorry!) and I am having to drive Will's truck this week (I never thought I would say this but thank goodness for Will's new car). Will apparently made a bet with some of our neighbors about how long it would take this to happen...I'm blaming it on the truck. Poor driveway light.

I tried to warn you that this post was random...I wasn't kidding.

Will provided me with some pampering recently :) Polish off...

Polish on...Pretty good for his first time. Just think how good he is going to get with lots of practice! Right, Will??

My two best boys.

Sweet Ride!

Only a total stud could drive this car...and, well....Will is now the proud owner.

???

So it was rainy most of the afternoon yesterday and naturally the temperature dropped some because of it but you can imagine my utter shock when I saw this "white stuff" on the side of the road yesterday on my way home....Yep. That's exactly what you think it is...

I slammed on my brakes, stopped in the middle of the road and took these pictures with my phone. I know what you are thinking but don't worry, we live in the middle of no where (have I mentioned that before?) so no one was coming, but if they were, stopping in the road is a pretty common occurrence out here (wildlife, car in the ditch, snow in August!...). Crazy, people.

Progress!

Summer looks good on our house! We've been working hard to make things look extra pretty this summer and it appears to be paying off. Our flowers are growing, our vegetables are growing AND our grass is growing (we've already mowed!). Aaahh Summer is so wonderful, I wish it would stay forever!

Will's tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers. The cucumbers don't appear to be doing anything other than over taking but we will keep being patient.

We lined the driveway with lights, put up some hanging baskets and Will even made me some flower boxes...see them on the deck railing? And we got a great deal on some Adirondack chairs that we stained for the front porch! Shew!

Now we just need the flagstone and maybe we can take a break...
