Big Girl

Elizabeth started sleeping in her room this week all by herself!  We probably should have moved her down a long time ago but somebody wasn't ready (hint: their name doesn't start with an E..?).  But this week was the week!  She did great!  She slept 9 straight hours the first night in her nursery!  I think she definitely slept better and I know for sure that I did!

What a sweet big girl...and for the thousandth time...how did we get so lucky??

You Are My Sunflower

Our sunflowers started blooming and I thought what could be cuter than my own little sunflower in the sunflowers?!  So we had an impromptu photo shoot yesterday.  I think it was a good idea :)

5 Months!

Elizabeth is developing quite the little personality...she keeps me on my toes.  She is going to be a pistol that is for sure.  She is sweet as can be but has also found her temper this month.  Don't worry, I had a little talk with her and I think I set her straight...  I'm sure this is only the beginning!  But luckily she only shows it from time to time, like when I take her bottle away, strap her in the stroller or basically whenever I make her do anything she doesn't want to do...oh my.

But way more frequently she keeps me laughing!  She just babbles all the time, squeals with happiness and has the sweetest little giggle.  She also has the most hysterical facial expressions (I wonder where she gets that from??).  She is reaching, grabbing and chewing on her toys, sitting with assistance and as of last night, rolling over on her own!  What a big girl!

She loves watching Boone...he is like a brown blur that shows up from time to time, sniffs her face, tries to steal her toys and competes for Will's attention.  He, tolerates her.

It is still unusually hot here which is nice except that our house is often 80+ degrees inside.  The plus side...lots of naked baby time!

Rice cereal attempt number 1 = Fail.

Happy 5 Months to my silly little girl!!

Dinosaur National Monument

Guess where we went last weekend??  Okay, okay...we went to Utah.  Utah is actually only about 2.5 hours away from us.  We headed to a place called Dinosaur National Monument to check out an exhibit of dinosaur fossils.

So I will do my best to explain...apparently a long, long, long time ago this site was home to a vast river...there was a drought and then a flood that killed lots of dinosaurs and washed them down the river...they created some type of "log-jam", buried and then discovered.  The rock around them was preserved and that is what they built the structure around for the monument.

I'm not typically into disosaurs and fossils but I had to admit this was pretty fascinating!

I think this was my favorite picture of the day...look at sweet, tiny Elizabeth checking out that big dinosaur...

Another fun day in the books for the Dennis Family!
