Softball Tournament

Will and I have been playing softball on a co-ed league every Tuesday night. We have been having a great time with friends and meeting new people. This Saturday we played in a softball tournament to raise money for an umpire who had been injured. We put together a team of 11 people and hoped for the best. It was a HOT day and we started playing at 9 o'clock in the morning. We all surprised ourselves by easily winning our first game and after that we wanted/expected to win the rest :) Well we didn't win the rest but after 5 games and 10 hours later we finished in 3rd place out of 9 other teams. We had such a great time but were completely exhausted. I played catcher in each game and caught several foul balls and had a few good hits. Will had to sit the tournament out because of a hurt leg but was a fantastic score keeper and coach for his team. I am really glad that we decided to play and love it when we win! GO TEAM!!

Colorado Summer

So everyone kept telling me if I could just survive the Winter that the Summer in Colorado would be completely worth it.....I don't know that I would go that far....the Winter was rough! BUT the Summer has been wonderful. We have spent a lot of time outside and have finally taken a break from the house work (not because we are finished, just because we are sick of it). We live 0.6 miles from the Stagecoach Reservoir and have been taking full advantage of our friends/neighbors boat. I got talked into learning to wake board and am actually enjoying myself. Will is, of course, already great at it but I am learning pretty quickly and having a great time!

We also took a great camping trip. We went with several of our neighbors, a couple of dogs and a couple of kids. We had a great time! There was lots of corn-hole, great food and good laughs. We went to the Flat Tops, took a very rugged road that opened up to the most beautiful and perfect camping site. We set up right on the point of a lake, surrounded by water and mountains....it was perfect.

Puppy Mania

A couple of months ago Will and I put a deposit down on a male German Shorthair Pointer puppy from a breeder in Montana. We got exciting news this morning that the puppies were born in the wee hours of the morning. She had 5 males and 4 females. We will be taking a week long road trip in August to go pick out/up our sweet puppy. He will be about 6 1/2 weeks old when we get him. We are both really excited and I will post pictures as soon as we get some.

Mustang Rally...cars not horses :)

Now that the snow has finally melted...finally...there are lots of fun and FREE things to do in Steamboat in the summer. We went to a Mustang Rally where they closed off one of the streets in downtown and filled it with old and new mustangs. Will loved it and I was completely clueless but we both had a good time!

A Work in Progress

As most of you know, Will and I have been spending LOTS of our free time working on our house and trying to get it just perfect. However, it seems we have too many projects and not enough free time. After lots of decorating, painting (still in progress), rearranging and light hanging....we have moved our efforts outside. Just like inside, we have big plans for outside. We will eventually build stairs and a bottom deck in the back of our house but first we had to move some dirt. Will rented a skid steer? and spent all weekend digging up dirt and moving it to level the yard. We have planted grass seed in the front and are keeping our fingers crossed that something will grow. We are testing out our grass growing skills before conquering the much bigger back yard. I will let you know how it goes :)
