Under The Weather

My girl was sick for what seemed like a an eternity. She's been majorly sick twice in the past 6 weeks with a terrible cough and coughing until puking and coughing until puking and not sleeping. It's so rough but she handles it like a trooper!

There's been lots of snuggles...and breathing treatments. We now own our very own nebulizer machine. Ugh.

There was lots of movie watching in all shapes and sizes.

And even enough medicine for horsie :)

Oh and then there were hives. Two sets of hives actually...in the last 6 weeks. Turns out the girl is allergic to amoxicillin AND pulmicort. Great. 

She has been exhausted from being sick, constantly taking some type of medicine, Benadryl for hives and a gazillion trips to the doctor! But I enjoyed every second of her so so so so rare nap on mommy!

Just this weekend she seems to have gotten caught up on her rest and back to her old self. It's so good to have her back!

Hoppy Easter!!

We had a busy, fun-filled Easter weekend! It started with a community "Easter Eggstravagansa". She hunted eggs...

Bounced...

And slid...

Then we went to Meri's birthday party (Meri's mommy has all those pictures!)

Easter morning she got an Easter basket filled with all the things you sweet people have been sending her!  You guys make my job easy :-)

She was a tiny bit excited to get new bubbles...

Then we went to our friends Silas' for brunch...yum!

And then Meri's house for lunch! We accept all invitations that include us getting fed. Thanks.

And these girls...how could you deny them this joy?!

Later at home, we did this out our front door...

If you haven't seen the movie Frozen yet I highly recommend it! It has a song in it that says, "do you want to build a snowman..?" and Elizabeth walked right up to Will and plain as day said, "do you want to build a snowman?". Obviously we've watched the movie A LOT but who could say no to such a sweet request?!

So yes, we built a snowman! An Easter Snowman! At 8 pm! Why, not?!

Date with Mommy

Elizabeth and I had a very special day together last week. The sun was out and we needed to be out of the house!

We went to the bookstore and E picked out two new books! She was so excited and proud.

She waited so patiently while we checked out and carried the bag all the way to the car :-)

We decided it was too nice out and we weren't ready to go home yet. So, we walked a couple of blocks to get lunch. Elizabeth talked the entire way about everything she saw. She also stepped on/in every rock, leaf, mud puddle, snow and even GRASS!

We read our new books while we waited for our pizza.

And who could deny this sweet girl something sweet?! Chocolate ice cream is her favorite!

Then we walked back in similar fashion to the walk there. This time it started to snow on us so we made it back a little faster :-)

What a great day with my big girl!

Chick Days

We went to visit the baby chicks! Elizabeth loved them. I, however, am thrilled that we came home empty handed. 

These were my favorites though, the Rhode Island Red. Cute little red headed, chickies :-)

2 Year Stats

I took my BIG girl to the doctor this week for her 2 year well check appointment.  Here's how it turned out:

Height: 34.5 inches (59th percentile)

Weight: 24 lbs  (14th percentile)

Happy, healthy, smart, funny, strong...they just confirmed everything we all already knew!

 This girl didn't even want to sit on her mommy's lap.  She sat in her own chair for the entire check up.  She was so proud of herself and Mommy was proud too.  My girl is growing up!
